Cirebon City APBD 2026 Prioritizes Fulfillment of Mandatory Allocations for the Education and Health Sectors

Cirebon, Kontroversinews, Com.- The Cirebon City Government emphasizes its commitment to maintaining the fulfillment of mandatory allocations for the education and health sectors in the preparation of the 2026 Fiscal Year APBD. These two sectors are the main priority so that basic services for the community remain guaranteed and run optimally in line with the dynamics of regional needs.

This was conveyed by the Mayor of Cirebon, Effendi Edo, when attending the Cirebon City DPRD Plenary Meeting with the agenda of approving the 2026 Fiscal Year APBD Draft, Thursday (27/11/2025). On that occasion, the Mayor expressed his appreciation for the close cooperation between the executive and legislature during the budget discussion process.

“I express my highest appreciation to the leadership and all members of the DPRD who have devoted their full attention during the preparation of the budget. Our joint commitment to ensure that mandatory allocations for education and health are fulfilled is a form of responsibility to the community,” said the Mayor.

The Mayor explained that the series of discussions, starting from the KUA-PPAS to the approval of the Draft Regional Regulation, took place with intensive discussions at various levels, especially the commissions. Every note, correction and alignment is an important part of ensuring the budget is prepared efficiently and on target.

“The DPRD’s dedication in reviewing each budget item is a guarantee that the 2026 APBD was born through a careful process. Thank God, we were able to complete this stage on time, in accordance with the mandate of statutory regulations,” said the Mayor.

The 2026 APBD draft is said to be a strategic document that directs regional development in accordance with the RKPD and the medium-term vision of the City of Cirebon. Apart from maintaining the momentum of economic recovery, this budget is also aimed at strengthening the foundations for sustainable growth through increasing connectivity and support for priority sectors.

The City Government is also paying attention to strengthening the trade and services sector and expanding opportunities for MSMEs. Through digitalization assistance, market expansion and access to financing, the City Government encourages MSMEs to move up in class and become an important part of driving the local economy.

Apart from that, the historical, artistic and culinary potential of Cirebon will continue to be optimized to increase the competitiveness of the creative economy and regional tourism. This effort complements the ongoing bureaucratic reform steps to create a more agile, professional and performance-oriented government.

The Mayor emphasized that all heads of regional apparatus must ensure that budget implementation goes according to plan, is transparent and without deviation.

“This is the time for us to work faster, smarter and more accountable. There should be no doubt in ensuring that the budget truly provides benefits to society,” he said.
