Kuningan, Controversinews | The free nutritional food (MBG) lighthouse program, which is said to raise the degree of nutrition of 82.9 million school children from a stunting puddle, has now proven to be a deadly poison. Kompas media data edition on October 3, 2025 kicked off: Nitrite levels on the MBG menu in West Bandung – Melon and Lotek – reached 3.91 mg/L and 3.54 mg/L, almost four times the safe limit of EPA (1 mg/L). The result? 1,315 students are lying on the condition of nausea, vomiting, dizziness, weakness, even shortness of breath. This is no longer an ordinary failure – this is an organized crime that is hidden behind the trillions of budget and crocodile tears.

Make no mistake, this nitrite does not come from the wind. Initial investigations show two main causes: First, the use of excessive preservatives to preserve food cooked at night and eaten lunch-stupid logics that sacrificed children. Second, the process of cooking high temperatures that convert nitrite to nitrosamine, carcinogenic compounds that trigger gastric cancer and pancreas.

Salt, which is an additional trigger for nitrite from natural nitrates in vegetables, is even exacerbated by chaotic distribution storage. This is not nutrition – this is a time bomb that is gradually deliberately thrown into the stomach of the nation’s children!

If you suspect the sabotage is natural. The Rp 71 trillion budget is only absorbed by Rp. 13 trillion with the remaining Rp. 58 trillion, vanished to whose pockets. Behind the Kitchen SPPG (Nutrition Fulfillment Services Unit), it is said that there is a strong hand-which makes criticism rejected outright.

It is not a coincidence that the ultra-processed menu (nuggets, sausages) that are rich in nitrite and fried at high temperatures become a mainstay of MBG. This is not a matter of ignorance – this is a matter of greed that protects political projects, not the intention to provide nutritious food for children. Since January the total total victims nationally have reached 5,626 children of school students, and the tragedy of heartbreaking West Bandung is only the peak of the iceberg from this scandal!

Deputy Head of BGN, Nanik S Deyang, cried and apologized on September 26, but that was just a cheap drama. The promise of SLHS certification and kitchen evaluation will not mean anything if the root of the problem is left-corruption and zero competence.

Compare with Korea, China, or America, where the school canteen stands independently, trained chefs, and routine health inspections are standard. There, eating not in class carelessly, but in a special room that is guaranteed hygienic-without the frills of the campaign service project. Why can’t we imitate them, instead choose poison under the guise of nutrition?

The solution is simple but must be radical: Stop MBG now! Submit the cooking process for our children to their respective schools-the country is simply pouring the budget and carrying out a strict monitor. The school kitchen is supervised by the principal or parent or through cooperation with school cooperatives, for example, it will be much better.

If there are cases of poisoning, direct evaluation to school, not SPGG that is immune to criticism. Build a simple canteen in every school, make tight soup: daily cook with fresh food, zero excess preservatives, and routine laboratory checks. The current budget can be used to build infrastructure projects or other programs related to the fulfillment of basic services.

The school has a great responsibility to students and parents – they are afraid that students are exposed to poisons, in contrast to SPPG officials who are only afraid of being audited. School cooperatives can profit, explore local potential, and children can eat safely without worry.

But if the government continues to be stubborn and blind to run MBG, this is no longer a matter of nutrition – but about the evil intentions disguised behind the sweet promise.
