KOLAKA, WN—In order to maintain the dignity of the Mekongga Kingdom in appointing its leader who will be passed on to children and grandchildren in the future, the Mekongga Kingdom Assembly (MKM) and the Committee are committed to continuing to carry out the inauguration of the XXth Bokeo in December 2025.

The agreement between MKM and the implementing committee to continue the agenda for the inauguration of the XXth Bokeo, YM Firman Guro, occurred during a meeting held at Mokole Tinondo’s house in Kolaka, Friday (05/12/2025) which was chaired by the XX Bokeo Executive who was also Puusara YM Amran Mosunde, Kapita Hasdin Al Juddawie and the Chair of the committee Sirwan Jaya Razak.

On that occasion, the Chair of the XXth Bokeo inauguration committee, Sirwan Jaya Razak, emphasized that the committee remained consistent in carrying out the coronation even with limited funds. He did not want to be blamed by his children and grandchildren in the future, because he did not follow the customary rules regarding the appointment and coronation of Bokeo according to the order that had been in place for a long time.

“We will be embarrassed when our children and grandchildren ask why the inauguration of Bokeo like this is not in accordance with the existing customary order, while we still existed at that time and did not forbid violations of customs. If we do not save customs now, then in the future we will no longer look at race or blood, but anyone who has money and still has Mekongga heritage can be appointed as Bokeo,” stressed Sirwan.

This former member of the Kolaka DPRD also conveyed a message from his parents addressed to himself, MKM and the Committee to always carry out customs according to the rules, and not violate them according to the Mekongga traditional philosophy, “Inae Konosora ie pinesara, inae liasara ie pinekasara”

“Before coming here, my mother, who is an elder, advised us to carry out customs according to tetenggano (rules), don’t break them,” said Sirwan Jaya Razak.

Likewise, the Capita of the Mekongga Kingdom, Hasdin Al Juddawie, revealed that the MKM had met with the Regent of Kolaka to convey the MKM’s intention to inaugurate the XXth Bokeo and a committee had been formed. However, the Regent hopes that his inauguration will be postponed first, because currently there are three camps, each of which claims to be the most correct in carrying out its deliberations, and have even inaugurated him.

“So the Regent will coordinate progressively with various parties, to verify this. However, the results of the agreement between MKM and the Committee remain committed to carrying out the inauguration of the XXth Bokeo in December 2025,” he said.

Hasdin hopes that the Kolaka Regional Government will wisely and tactfully respond to this matter without any pressure from any party, because if we are honest, the one who has the right to carry out deliberations on the appointment and coronation of Bokeo is MKM, because apart from having the decree signed by the XIXth Bokeo, the late PYM Khaerun Dahlan, which has not yet been disbanded, this Pemangkuan has also carried out deliberations on the appointment and coronation of Bokeo XVIII and XIX.

Hasdin explained that Mr. Hasmito Dahlan’s coronation was considered liasara (violating custom) because it did not begin with a deliberation, but rather a direct coronation which was not carried out by Puusara, and was not witnessed by Opitu Toonomotuo (7 parents). Likewise, the deliberations held at the traditional house, apart from chaos when the name Endang Abbas Buraerah came out, were also considered illegal because registration was carried out, which is not usually done in the Mekongga Kingdom, and was not attended by royal officials. Apart from that, from Opitu Toonomotuo, three of them do not comply with the provisions stated in Decree Bokeo XIX.

Based on CH Pingak’s writings which I still keep, from the first Sangia of Larumbalangi to the XIXth Bokeo, Opitu Toonomotuo knew and witnessed, at the same time Puusara carried out the Bokeo or Tinodeha oath-taking procession, according to the existing order and provisions of the Mekongga customs,” said Hasdin.

Meanwhile, Amran Mosunde emphasized that as the organizer of Bokeo and Puusara, he fully supports the committee’s sincere intention to inaugurate the XXth Bokeo.
