PT Vale’s Padaidi Farmers Group Harvests 7 Tons of Corn Feed Per Hectare

KOLAKA, WN—-The Padaidi Farmers’ Group, Tondowolio Village, Tanggetada District, Kolaka Regency, Southeast Sulawesi (Sultra), assisted by PT Vale Indonesia, Tbk (PT Vale) Indonesia Growth Project (IGP) Pomalaa, harvested feed corn with yields reaching 7 tons/hectare.

The Padaidi’ Farmers Group is also a Community Empowerment Development (PPM) program of PT Vale IGP Pomalaa, carrying out the harvest which was carried out by Agus Asia, Mirwanto Muda representing Vale company management, Timebangga Police Chief Iptu Hendra, Danramil Watubangga, officials from the Food Crops and Horticulture Service, the Plantation and Livestock Service, the Head of Tondowolio Village, Chairman of the Padaidi’ Farmers Group Baharuddin with members and residents Tondowolio, which was held in Tondowolio Village on (2 /1/2026).

The chairman of the Padaidi Farmers’ Group, Baharuddin, revealed that with the coaching carried out by the Vale company for his group, which consists of 22 members, with an area that is now a PT Vale demonstration plot covering an area of ​​1.4 hectares, the harvest is now being carried out today, from a planned program of 27 hectares, each hectare can achieve a dry corn harvest of up to 7 tons.

“The success of this harvest is thanks to the coaching carried out by the Vale company which routinely provides assistance with seeds, fertilizer, medicines and operational costs for maintaining corn plants,” said Baharuddin.

He hopes that in the future the company will continue to synergize by providing guidance to the Padaidi Farmers Group.

“We hope that with guidance from Vale, we will continue to synergize with the Kolaka Regional Government and Farmer Groups on how to increase food self-sufficiency, especially corn,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of Tondowolio Village also appreciated PT Vale for providing guidance to corn farmers through the Padaidi farmer group. With an area of ​​27 hectares which has been used and developed from Hamlet I to Hamlet IV, Tondano Wolio Village.

“The development of the Padaidi Farmers Group is a PPM program from PT Vale aimed at increasing food self-sufficiency,” said the Village Head.

The corn harvest in the demonstration plot area of ​​the Padaidi’ Dusun II Tondowolio Village Farmers Group, assisted by the Vale company, was also the moment when the Kolaka Police conducted a Vitcom with the National Police Headquarters, members of the DPR RI and a number of Regional Heads throughout Indonesia, on the topic of increasing food self-sufficiency, especially corn.
