BANDUNG, Kontroversinews – An atmosphere of emotion and pride colored the graduation ceremony for students at the Al-Firdaus Community Learning Activity Center (PKBM), Papakmanggu Village, Cibodas Village, Pasirjambu District, Bandung Regency, Wednesday (8/10/2025). This moment is clear proof that the enthusiasm for learning knows no age or time limit.
The graduation activity which took place in the Pasirjambu Rest Area was attended by Plt. Head of PNF/Language and Literature Equality at the Bandung Regency Education Service, Agus Deni, M.Pd, PKBM Inspector Jayana, S.Pd, and Chair of the Ibadurrohman Kusumahani Al Badriyah Foundation, H. Enjang Rohimat, S.Ag., MM.
Also present were Forkopimcam Pasirjambu, represented by Danramil Pasirjambu, Captain Arm Giyar M., S.IP, representatives of PT GeoDipa Energi Unit Patuha, HC, GA & PR Assmandan Weni Kusumaningrum, tutors, PKBM managers, and hundreds of residents learning from packages A, B, and C.
Head of PNF/Language and Literature Equality, Bandung Regency Education Office, Agus Deni, expressed his high appreciation for the graduation ceremony.
“We really appreciate the activity of releasing students to study at PKBM Al-Firdaus. It turns out that there are still many residents who are over 50 years old but are still enthusiastic about learning. This is very appropriate, because equality education targets those who have not had time to complete formal education,” he said.
According to Deni, support from the industrial world such as PT GeoDipa Energi is very meaningful. “Collaboration between PKBM Al-Firdaus and PT GeoDipa must continue to be improved. This collaboration is an example of real synergy in solving the problem of non-school attendance (ATS) in Bandung Regency,” he said.
Agus Deni also emphasized the importance of solidarity between PKBM. He reminded that there should be no unhealthy competition in the field. “We hope that synergy between PKBM will be maintained so that all institutions can strengthen each other in their mission to educate society,” he stressed.
Chairman of the Ibadurrohman Kusumahani Al Badriyah Foundation, Enjang Rohimat, said that this graduation event had been prepared long ago. “We have been planning the release of package B and package C students for a long time. Thank God, the event went smoothly and was full of meaning,” he said.
He said that Al-Firdaus PKBM students did not only come from Cibodas Village, but also from several surrounding villages such as Sugihmukti, Alamendah and Panundaan. “We are also collaborating with PKBM Jarmi which is currently in the licensing process. This is our second year collaborating,” he said.
Enjang said that PT GeoDipa Energi Patuha Unit had provided great support for learning activities. “They also provide support to students, especially those who live around the company’s operational areas,” said Enjang.
With great enthusiasm, he congratulated all students. “Congratulations to the 116 students who have graduated. Package C totaled 78 people, package B 18 people, and package A 6 people. Hopefully the diplomas received will be provisions for a better future,” he said.
On the same occasion, the Chair of PKBM Al-Firdaus, Muhamad Jimli Fatihin, S.Pd., emphasized that equality education is not just about giving a diploma, but rather building a new spirit of life for the participants. “Today we saw the real results of the participants’ learning struggles. They come from various ages, some are even over 50 years old,” he explained.
Jimli said that PKBM Al-Firdaus is located in Kampung Papak Manggu RT 01 RW 13 Cibodas Village, while PKBM Jarmi operates in the Rancabali area. “We want to reach people in remote areas who still have high enthusiasm for studying,” he added.
In line with that, PKBM Jarmi Manager, Toni Setiawan, hopes that equality graduates will continue their education. “After graduating, package A participants should continue to package B, and package B participants should move up to package C. For package C, we encourage them to continue studying or open a business,” he said.
According to Toni, the diploma obtained is not only a symbol of graduation, but also the door to independence. “We want PKBM graduates to have the skills and mentality to develop in the world of work or entrepreneurship,” hoped Toni.
Meanwhile, the representative of PT GeoDipa Energi Patuha Unit, Weni Kusumaningrum, emphasized the company’s commitment to developing education in the surrounding community. “We are committed to supporting equality education programs through the GeoDipa Pintar pillar. This support is part of the company’s social responsibility,” he said.
Weni added, apart from supporting PKBM Al-Firdaus, the company is also ready to participate in other educational programs in their operational areas. “God willing, we will continue to contribute through various educational and community empowerment activities,” said Weni.
Happiness also radiated from the faces of the graduates. One of them is Iis Yuningsih, a resident of Sugihmukti Village who successfully completed package C equivalency education. “I am very grateful to be able to graduate. This program helped me get new opportunities. I will use this diploma to apply for jobs and continue dreams that were previously postponed,” he said.
With the spirit of “Lifelong Learning”, PKBM Al-Firdaus and PKBM Jarmi are committed to continuing to serve in educating the people in the southern Bandung area. This graduation is not the end of the journey, but the beginning of a new step towards a brighter future. ***
