Baznas Kolaka Helps Flood Victims in Polenga Village

KOLAKA, WN—National Amil Zakat Agency (Baznas) Kolaka, Southeast Sulawesi (Sultra) provided assistance to Sahuruddin, a resident of Polenga Village, Watubangga District, whose house was swept away when the flood hit some time ago.

The Deputy Chairman of Baznas Kolaka, Ustadz Agus Ahsan, handed over the aid to Kolaka Regional Secretary Akbar, who then handed it over to the recipient Sahuruddin in the courtyard of the Watubangga District Head’s office, Tuesday (24/2/2026) in the series of the first day of the Ramadhan Safari.

The distribution of Baznas aid to people who need it, said the Head of Baznas Kolaka, H Nur Syamsul, is zakat from all ASN within the Kolaka Regional Government, where previously Baznas had also handed over 600 basic food packages to the Welfare Section of the Kolaka Regional Secretariat to be distributed to residents in need at every Ramadhan safari.

The implementation of the first day of the Ramadhan Safari on (24/2/2026) was carried out simultaneously in two sub-districts, namely Toari District, led directly by the Regent of Kolaka H Amri Djamaluddin accompanied by a number of Heads of Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD), Sub-district Heads, Village Heads and the community.

Meanwhile in Watubangga District, it was held in the courtyard of the Watubangga District Head’s Office to break the fast together led by the Deputy Regent of Kolaka H Husmaluddin, also accompanied by a number of OPD Heads, Village Heads and the community.

After breaking the fast together, all the Ramadhan Safari teams spread out to all the mosques to perform tarwih together with local residents. (**)
