Cirebon, Controversy news, Com. – The Bandengan Village Government, Mundu District, Cirebon Regency, through the flagship Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) program, is strengthening community food security through a catfish cultivation program, as many as 20 thousand Tilapia fish seeds were stocked in ponds as an initial step, Monday (10/11/2025).
Kuwu Bandengan Village, Nining Suningsih, said that this program is a concrete form of benefiting the Village Fund (DD) in 2025. Its allocation is directed at the productive sector, supporting food security.
“The capital investment through BUMdes Mina Macak Nawasena is expected to be able to support food security, as well as increase Village Original Income (PADes),” he said.
Nining Suningsih is optimistic that the success of tilapia cultivation will provide multiple benefits. Apart from meeting the community’s protein needs, the harvest can be marketed widely so that it can move the wheels of the village economy.
This food security program has full community support. Residents believe that the existence of BUMDes Mina Macak Nawasena can be a driving force for the village economy through the fisheries sector.
Meanwhile, Director of BUMDes Mina Macak Nawasena Warkum explained that his party uses a pond system because it is considered more efficient and environmentally friendly. The harvest success rate is higher, maintenance is easier and the quality of the fish is more guaranteed, he said.
This tilapia seed sowing event was attended directly by Kuwu Bandengan and the local community.
